Health and Safety Assurance and Incident Officer Salary: £39,451 per annum plus benefits Location: Hybrid with travel to Kidlington If you have not held residency in the UK for the last 5 years, we will not be able to process an application from you. An opportunity has arisen to appoint a Health, Safety & Environment Assurance and Incident Officer. The successful candidate will undertake investigative and assurance activities to assess the level of compliance with applicable laws and regulations and policies, procedures and activities. The role aims to help the organisation to understand HSE risks and be assured that it operates a safe environment for staff, contractors, visitors and the public, and minimising avoidable accidents and incidents. You will be responsible for managing internal and external HSE inspections and developing and maintaining the internal assurance / compliance audit processes and undertaking a planned schedule of activities to monitor and assess HSE compliance. This will encompass, but is not limited to, reviews of policy, guidance, knowledge, training, culture, procedures and risk assessments, as well as physical assessments of the workplace environments. You will work with HSE Specialists to design and implement remedial actions, where relevant. The post-holder will assess how well the client is managing its HSE risks and report findings, opinions, and recommendations to senior management. The post-holder will carry out scheduled and unscheduled audits and accident and incident investigations under minimal supervision, providing reports to the relevant business lead with remedial actions for them to implement with their relevant HSE Specialist. The post-holder will ensure a robust process is in place for the recording of and learning from incidents and near misses. You will support business owners in investigating incidents, where specialist HSE expertise is required, and work with relevant HSE Specialists and responsible business owners to compile reports for internal consumption and RIDDOR reporting resulting from the incident. You will work in an oversight capacity with HSE Specialists and business colleagues in monitoring and addressing issues and improvement/remedial actions.
